Role Overview
We need a sharp, analytical Competition & Market Research Analyst who can dissect the fintech lending landscape with precision. You will be our intelligence layer, mapping competitor moves, identifying market whitespace, and spotting emerging threats before they materialize. This role requires the ability to synthesize fragmented data into strategic insights and comfort with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Key Responsibilities

Competitive Intelligence: Build and maintain real-time competitor tracking systems across product features, pricing, and positioning

Market Sizing: Calculate TAM/SAM/SOM for new product verticals and geographic expansions

Pricing Analysis: Reverse-engineer competitor pricing models, interest rate structures, and hidden fee architectures

Feature Benchmarking: Conduct systematic feature comparison across 15+ competitors in the small-ticket lending space

Regulatory Monitoring: Track RBI circulars, NBFC regulations, and compliance changes affecting market dynamics

Strategic Reporting: Produce weekly intelligence briefs and monthly deep-dives for leadership
Key Competencies

Pattern Recognition: Spot trends in competitor behaviour before they become obvious

Financial Modelling: Build bottom-up market models and unit economics comparisons (refer to attached assignment for further details)

Strategic Communication: Present complex competitive dynamics in formats that drive decision-making
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field

0–2 years’ experience in competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, investment research, or fintech product

Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, basic modelling). Experience with SQL is a plus

Experience with competitive intelligence tools (SEMrush, App Annie/data.ai, or similar)

Deep understanding of Indian fintech ecosystem, NBFC regulations, and credit markets

Demonstrated ability to build competitor battlecards and strategic frameworks

Portfolio: Examples of market sizing models, competitor analysis decks, or intelligence briefs
