Chai Kings, a Tamil Nadu-based tea retail chain, has raised $3 million (approximately Rs 24 crore) in a Series A funding round led by A.V. Thomas and Co. (AVT). The capital infusion aims to accelerate the brand’s expansion, enhance its supply chain, improve customer engagement, and optimize operational efficiencies. The startup, founded in 2016 by Jahabar Sadique and Balaji Sadagopan, currently operates 57 stores across Chennai, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore and plans to add 65 more outlets across key cities. With AVT’s backing, Chai Kings aims to scale its operations while maintaining its commitment to high-quality and affordable chai. This funding marks a crucial milestone in its journey, allowing it to strengthen logistics, improve digital engagement, and broaden its reach in South India.
